Dallas Center-Grimes offers extra curricular activities in the areas of athletics, speech, drama, instrumental and vocal music. In the 2007-2008 school year 78% of our high school students participated and in at least one extra curricular activity and over 50% of those students were involved in more than one activity.
Over the past five years DCG has won conference championships in eight different sports and has participated in the state contests 10 different sports. The DCG Marching Mustang Band continually scores high in Band and Parade Competitions.
DCG students have new facilities in which to compete and perform in. The fine arts students participate in the new Auditorium at the high school. The auditorium opened in the fall of 2005 and seats 650. The new sports complex is currently under oonstruction on the north side of the high school and will be complete in the fall of 2006. It will have a new all weather track, soccer and football fields along with two practice fields. The new stadium will seat 3500 when completed.
Support for all of our athletic programs is provided by the DCG Athletic Boosters, Friends of Fine Arts (FOFA) and Mustang Wrestling Club. These groups provides equipment, uniforms and other supplies to make our programs work.
